NAC Accepts Grant from Sport England

We are delighted to have been offered and to have accepted a small grant from Sport England to help Northampton Archery Club cover its costs in the period 1st March to 31st July 2020 when the club was unable to open due to Covid-19.

This grant is from a £195 million fund made available by Sport England to help the sport and physical activity sector through the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. You can read more about the fund here.

NAC 2020 AGM

The time has now come that we can not delay holding our Annual General Meeting any longer because the fees need to be set for the next membership year and a new committee elected.

The committee decided that we would notify the date and we currently HOPE that we are able to do this at one of our shooting venues, BUT unless the government rules are relaxed further allowing more people to gather we will have no choice to hold this virtually. This will most likely me via Microsoft Teams where web or telephone access will be possible.

The committee also discussed ensuring that we make the AGM accessible to everyone regardless of their ability to access either in person, because they may be shielding, or because they’re unable to access the internet that for this years AGM we will allow proxy voting – This means that should you be unable to attend for these reasons, you will be able to send your vote in advance of the meeting to the secretary. More details are to follow on this with the complete AGM pack, 2 weeks ahead of the meeting.

Notice is therefore given of the Annual General Meeting of Northampton Archery Club, which will be held at 2.30pm Saturday 22nd August 2020 at

BBOB Range, BBOB RFC, St.Andrews Road, Northampton, NN1 2PQ

OR

Sywell Range, Kettering Road, Sywell, Northampton NN6 9TE

Northampton Archery Club now on easyfundraising

Earlier this year, ArcheryGB launched a partnership with easyfundraising, which gives clubs an easy way to raise funds.

Easyfundraising is in effect as cashback site, so when you shop online using the easyfundraising site, the retailer will donate money to our club. We will then use this money for the equipment and materials we need to run the club. We are hoping this will be a good way for us to raise funds to support the club.

We will be promoting this widely once we are able to get back to our venues with posters and adding more details to our bulletin.

All you need to do is:

1. Go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/northamptonarcheryclub and join for free.

2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping. There is also a browser plugin you can download that will alert you if you can raise funds through a website you’re browsing.

3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Northampton Archery Club at no extra cost to you whatsoever!

4. This isn’t just restricted to NAC members – anyone can register & raise money for the club, so tell your family too.

There are no catches or hidden charges and Northampton Archery Club will be really grateful for your donations.

Any questions please contact Susan – vchair@northamptonarchery.co.uk
