Halloween PingTattyBoggle 2011.

Following a rather windy shoot The Little Devil wins the clubs annual halloween shoot (shot as a ping tatty bogle at 30-50 yrds).

8 archers actually managed to score. The top 3 were Ian P (11), Leigh M (15) but way out in front was Robyn with 28 points.

Congratulations also to Lizzie, Jay and Brendan for caving the best pumpkins. Our guest judge, John had a very tricky time deciding the top 3 from an excellent amount of entries this year.

Thanks to all those who joined into the spirit of the event. Some great costumes from young and old alike. Ian will be posting the pictures as soon as we get the gallery widget fixed.

Our next outdoor shoot will be the annual boxing day turkey and Christmas pudding shoot which as last year will also be a ping tatty bogle.

Tuesday Shooting is back

News hot off the press tonight. Tuesday shooting has just been agreed at Carlsberg club for the winter session.

The Carlsberg Committee have offered NAC the chance to shoot on Tuesday Evenings throughout the winter . This will be available from next week, 25th October 2011. The cost will be the same as Thursdays, £3 Adults, £2 Juniors, 50p suppliment for guests.

Don’t forget we now have a Compound ‘H’ stand at both our venues to ensure members arrows don’t get damaged. Hope to see you there next week.

Summer session ends with records

The Club’s records officers have reported 4 records.

At NAC’s end of summer session shoot the following records were set.

Kirsty Stephenson – Longbow – Short National
ladies club record of 103 – the previous county record 67 is also beaten. Well done Kirsty

Tina King – Barebow – Short National
Tina scored 160 at this shoot which does not beat her own club record of 207 however as the previous record was not eligible for county record status (we forgot to register the shoot!!!) this lower score can be submitted as setting a brand new county record. With Tina history of higher scores this record is unlikely to stand for too long

Jamie Hamill-Watts – Junior national – Jnr Gents
New Club Record of 464

Congratulations to all three.

John Ashby Sports Hall

John Ashby Sports Hall

Saturday 8th October 2011 saw NAC begin shooting at a brand new venue. John Ashby Sports Hall at Moulton College is the biggest indoor venue the club has ever shot at. Its longer (we can comnfortably shoot a 25 yrd Bray round) and wider (we can fit up to 8 butts and 16 targets) with plenty of space for up to 50 archers and all their equipment. The first session began a few minutes late at 11am. Dave Stephens, pictured here, had the pleasure of shooting the first arrow. Around 30 members enjoyed shooting 20 yards indoors for the first time. All things being well we’ll look at a members indoor competition in December and perhaps an indoor open in 2012 if we can find a slot in the county calendar. Hopefully they’ll be an album of memories from this day posted very soon.
