Congratulations to Lizzie Cantopher of Northampton Archery Club who has won the Bronze Medal in the ladies recurve at the National Series held at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham today. In the battle for bronze, Lizzie beat Ruth Welsh. Amy Oliver won Gold with Naomi Folkard, Silver. A fantastic result for Lizzie. Lizzie’s first match of the day against Sally Gilder went to a one arrow shoot off. Lizzie shot first with an 8 close to the 9 ring. Sally finished with a 7/8 liner taking Lizzie through to the semis, in which she was matched against the ultimate gold winner, Amy Oliver. Despite a great fight and good grouping, Lizzie lost 7 points to 3. Her final match against Ruth Welsh for the bronze medal was won 6 points to 2.
